Effective Date: 29th May 2025
This privacy policy explains how the Background Remover Chrome extension ("the Extension") handles your data. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about how your information is used.
When you use the extension to remove the background from an image, the image is sent to your configured background removal API (e.g., your own FastAPI server) for processing. The extension does not store or share these images with any third parties.
The extension may store your preferences (such as whether background removal is enabled) locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. This data is not transmitted or shared externally.
Images are only sent to the background removal API for the sole purpose of processing and returning the result to you. No images are stored or used for any other purpose.
User preferences are stored locally to improve your experience and are not shared with anyone.
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your data to outside parties. All image processing is handled by the API endpoint you configure (which may be your own server).
The extension does not use analytics, tracking, or advertising services.
We take reasonable measures to protect your data. However, as with any internet-based service, we cannot guarantee absolute security. Images are transmitted securely to the API endpoint for processing.
You can clear your extension data at any time by removing the extension or clearing your browser's extension storage.
If you use your own API server, you are responsible for its security and privacy practices.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
If you have any questions or concerns about this privacy policy, please contact us at edunote61@gmail.com.
By using the Background Remover extension, you agree to this privacy policy.
